I state the following with no offence or malice intended:
My Human Resources Management lecturer did that to us once....
in the last five minutes of her final class, she quoted us passages
from the Bible....
I thought she was going to tell us about how some passages from
the Bible can apply to HR management.... you know, about being nice
to others and stuff...
Instead, she started promoting her beliefs and said that 'You
non-Christians are doomed to not see the Kingdom of Heaven unless
you join us'....and what not...
We were all trying hard to keep a straight face.
Needless to say, I blasted her thoroughly in the post-semester
survey for those five minutes of madness.... which is just too bad,
because she was otherwise a good lecturer.
I'm just glad that people like her are in the minority.
well .. .to be honest .... I think the one common thread in all
of the abrahamic religions, is that they ALL can be pretty pompus
and intolerant .... after all .... if the one god is the god of all
men, then those who are not "with us", are "against us", no ? ... I
mean ... mutual tolerance doesn't really mean anything, when deep
in their minds, each is thinking "you poor bugger infidel, you're
going to hell", neh ? .... we are just burying the schism beneath
the veneer of civility, no ? ...
sometimes, I don't think a peace is ever possible between these
religions, because each one is self righteous about the primacy of
their beliefs .... and I despair that men of different faith can
truly be free from mutual conflict ....
which brings me to my favourite john lennon song ...
